Gov. Zulum of Borno State Declares No Anointed Candidate for 2027 Elections

Borno State Governor Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum declared during a crucial APC stakeholders' meeting in Maiduguri that he does not have an anointed candidate for the 2027 general elections.

He urged against spreading rumors that could divide the party and stressed the importance of a just electoral process. The meeting was attended by key figures including Acting Governor Umar Usman Kadafur, former Governor Maina Ma Aji Lawan, APC Deputy National Chairman Ali Bukar Dalori, State APC Chairman Bello Ayuba, and other prominent party members.

Governor Zulum advocated for new faces to occupy party positions, promoting inclusivity and strengthening the party's grassroots base. The event also saw the presence of three former deputy governors, Senator Moham Tahir Monguno, Senator Kaka Shehu Lawan, and members of the Borno State House of Assembly leadership.
