Peter Obi Threatens to Switch Parties Ahead of 2027 Elections

In an interview with Arise TV on Monday, Peter Obi, the former governor of Anambra State, criticized the African Democratic Congress (ADC) for failing to maintain credible internal processes ahead of the 2027 elections. He emphasized that his political decisions are guided by principles rather than convenience, indicating a willingness to leave the ADC if necessary.

Obi noted that the political landscape in Anambra State has been fraught with tension, particularly concerning the succession process, which he described as unhealthy. He expressed disappointment with the People's Democratic Party (PDP), stating it has become driven by personal interests rather than adhering to established rules.

Obi highlighted the importance of loyalty to a political platform and warned against manipulation and compromise within the ADC's internal processes. He made it clear that he would not hesitate to switch parties, potentially up to 20 times, if the situation demands it, reiterating his commitment to protecting democratic values.
