Adebayo Critiques Wike's Communication Style in Politics

Adewole Adebayo, the presidential candidate for the Social Democratic Party (SDP), has publicly criticized the communication style of Nyesom Wike, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister. In an interview with Symfoni, Adebayo praised Wike's work ethic and contributions to the FCT's development but labeled him a “bad example for Nigerian politics” due to his use of force and state power.

Adebayo stated that if he were to appoint Wike in his government, he would metaphorically use sellotape to restrict Wike's public utterances. He acknowledged that while Wike's projects may involve inflated contracts and questionable value for money, they have nonetheless improved daily life and travel in the FCT.

Adebayo urged Wike to focus on his official duties and to support President Bola Tinubu privately rather than through public displays. He warned that Wike's approach could mislead young people into believing that politics can be conducted through forceful rhetoric.
