Igboho Rejects Sowore's Claims on Transactional Politics

Sundai Igboho, a prominent Yoruba nation agitator, dismissed comments made by human rights activist and former presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore regarding "transactional politics." Sowore's remarks, which circulated in a viral video, suggested that various regional agitators, including Igboho, align with political actors for personal gain rather than principled activism. In response, Igboho issued a statement through his media aide, Olayomi Koiki, in Ibadan, Oyo State, on Tuesday, criticizing Sowore's characterization as an "inconsequential rant" that ignores public sentiment.

Igboho argued that his activism focuses on improving security in the South West and supporting President Bola Tinubu's re-election bid in 2027, emphasizing the constitutional right to promote the collective interests of the Yoruba people. He rejected Sowore's claims of opportunism, asserting that his advocacy prioritizes addressing insecurity, including issues like farmer kidnappings and attacks on traditional rulers.

Igboho's statement highlighted the urgency of local security measures in response to ongoing threats in the region.
