Igboho Refuses to Endorse Atiku or Obi Amid Criticism

Sunday Igboho, known for his role in the Yoruba nation agitation, has publicly declared that he will not be compelled to endorse any presidential candidates for the 2027 elections, specifically mentioning former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi. This statement was made in response to comments from activist Omoyele Sowore, who criticized Igboho's political transactions and alleged that he was aligning with political actors for personal gain.

Igboho's spokesman, Olayomi Koiki, described Sowore's remarks as inconsequential and a misrepresentation of Igboho's intentions. Igboho emphasized that his focus remains on grassroots security in South West Nigeria, rejecting any notion that he would endorse political figures based on external pressures.

He also pointed out that Sowore's claims about his financial dealings, including a daily lodging expense of N450,000 at a popular Lagos hotel, were unfounded. Igboho reaffirmed his right to make independent political decisions based on the collective interests of the Yoruba people.
