Datti Supports Obi for Labour Party Ticket in 2027

Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed, who was the former vice presidential candidate for the Labour Party, publicly stated his intention to assist Peter Obi in obtaining the Labour Party ticket for the 2027 presidential elections. This support is contingent on the African Democratic Congress (ADC) failing to secure a presidential ticket.

During an interview with Trust TV, Baba-Ahmed emphasized the need for political realignment ahead of the elections and openly appealed for Obi, the former governor of Anambra State, to reconsider his position if the ADC ticket does not materialize. He assured that he would work to mend any internal divisions within the Labour Party and engage with party stakeholders to resolve differences.

Baba-Ahmed, who ran on the Labour Party platform during the 2023 presidential elections, highlighted Obi's significant performance, which disrupted the traditional dominance of Nigeria's two major political parties.
