Abdullahi Critiques Obi's Focus on 2027 Presidential Ticket

Bolaji Abdullahi, a member of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), accused Peter Obi of ignoring the party's policies to focus on securing a presidential ticket for the 2027 elections. In an interview on Monday, Abdullahi stated that Obi showed no interest in the ADC's policies and was primarily focused on obtaining the presidential nomination.

He categorized Obi's approach as belonging to a group of individuals who merely use the party as a platform for electoral contests rather than genuinely engaging with its agenda. Abdullahi also commented on the recent departure of Rabiu Kwankwaso from the ADC, describing it as a setback but not a fatal blow, expressing confidence that the party could recalibrate and emerge stronger.

He dismissed suggestions that former Vice President Atiku Abubakar would become the frontrunner for the ADC's presidential ticket following Kwankwaso's exit. Abdullahi emphasized the need for the ADC to establish itself as a credible opposition coalition ahead of the 2027 general elections.
