Adebayo Promises Governance Over Rulership for 2027 Election

Prince Adewole Adebayo, the presidential candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) for the 2027 general election, announced his intention to govern Nigeria through service and accountability rather than merely ruling over the populace. Speaking on Monday, Adebayo criticized the recycling of political leaders, specifically targeting figures like Peter Obi and Atiku Abubakar, alleging their past tenures contributed to Nigeria's socioeconomic challenges.

He described President Bola Tinubu's administration as a "monumental disaster" and claimed that the All Progressives Congress (APC) plans to rig the upcoming election. Adebayo, who has never held public office, positions himself as a candidate with a clean slate and experience from the private sector, advocating for voter awareness and protection of votes.

He referenced the leadership philosophies of notable figures such as Lee Kuan Yew, Thomas Sankara, and Nelson Mandela, emphasizing the need for sacrifice and competence in leadership. Adebayo aims to offer "fresh hands, pure motives, and proven private-sector competence" to address Nigeria's challenges.
