Iyabo Obasanjo Confident in 2027 Ogun Governorship Bid

Iyabo Obasanjo, the daughter of former Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo, has declared her intention to run for the Ogun State governorship election in 2027, expressing strong confidence in her ability to win. During a live discussion on Eagle 102.5 FM, she addressed the political hurdles faced by Nigerian women and stated that she is not intimidated by other candidates, including Solomon Adeola, who is popularly known as Yayi and currently represents Ogun West in the Senate.

Iyabo highlighted that Ogun West has not produced a governor despite the lack of formal laws governing the rotation of governorship zones in Nigeria. She committed to advocating for the emergence of a governor from Ogun West, emphasizing the importance of representation for the region.
