APC Aspirants Warn of Intimidation in Ondo Primaries

Aggrieved aspirants from the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State have expressed concerns that imposed candidates may negatively impact the party's chances in upcoming elections. Sen.

Adeniyi Adegbonmire, representing Ondo Central Senatorial District, characterized the APC primary elections as a complete charade, citing widespread intimidation and violence that disrupted the voting process across several wards in the Akure South Local Government Area. He reported instances of armed thugs threatening voters and preventing free and fair conduct of the primaries.

In contrast, Dr. Taiwo Fasoranti, an aspirant from the same district, described the exercise in Ward 7, Ijomu Akure, as peaceful and orderly, commending the large turnout and urging supporters to remain calm.

Pa Reuben Fasoranti, a prominent elder statesman and leader of the Pan-Yoruba socio-political group, also expressed confidence in a successful outcome for the party.
