Ondo APC Aspirants Warn of Disruption Plans for Primaries

Aspirants of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State have raised alarms regarding alleged plans to disrupt the upcoming primaries scheduled for April 14, 2026. Jimi Adekanl, representing the aggrieved aspirants, accused state governor Lucki Aiyedatiwa of endorsing specific candidates without consulting others, which he described as an unfair and undemocratic act.

The aspirants fear that thugs may be used to attack those not on the governor's preferred list, jeopardizing the integrity of the electoral process. They have called for urgent intervention from the APC national chairman and heads of security agencies to prevent violence and ensure a peaceful primary election.

In response, Idowu Ajanaku, a state commission representative, denied the allegations against the governor, asserting that efforts are being made to ensure a smooth and credible primary election, emphasizing the governor's commitment to maintaining order during the electoral exercise.
