ADC Challenges Wike's Claims on 2027 Elections

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has issued a statement in response to Nyesom Wike's remarks made during a civic reception organized by the City Boy Movement in Omagwa, Ikwerre Local Government Area, on Saturday. Wike claimed that the ADC would be defeated before noon on election day, despite the ADC's Vice Presidential candidate being from the area.

Dr. Chukwudi Dimkpa, ADC's state chairman, described Wike's comments as revealing and indicative of political rascality. He urged Rivers State citizens not to be intimidated and to focus on electing a credible leader in the 2027 elections.

Dimkpa criticized Wike for using a mourning occasion, the burial of Rotimi Amaechi's mother, for political purposes, calling it insensitive and provocative. He emphasized that elections are determined by the votes of the people and not by intimidation or premature declarations.

Wike had also stated that all candidates from the Rainbow Coalition would win the upcoming elections.
