Islamic Group Warns Politicians Against Religious Exploitation

The Islamic group, represented by its founder Mallam Yusuf Adepoju, has issued a caution to politicians regarding the potential exploitation of religion in the lead-up to the 2027 general elections. During an event held on a Sunday, Adepoju expressed concerns that introducing religious sentiments into political campaigns could heighten divisions among citizens and undermine national unity.

He urged politicians to refrain from dragging religion into their political ambitions, as this could create unnecessary tensions and weaken societal bonds. Adepoju emphasized that political leaders should focus on fulfilling their electoral promises and treating their commitments seriously.

He further encouraged Nigerians to make informed choices during elections, supporting candidates who demonstrate integrity and a genuine desire to serve the public. Adepoju reaffirmed his commitment to promoting peace and coexistence, highlighting the importance of unity within the Islamic community.
