2027: Jonathan, Makinde, Others May Join Race As PDP Set To Unveil Zoning Formula

The PDP is set to unveil a zoning formula that may see key figures like Jonathan and Makinde join the presidential race in 2027. The committee, led by Governor Duoye Diri, plans to meet in Abuja to discuss the timetable running from August 24 to December 2025.

The party's National Organising Secretary, Umar Bature, outlined the activities leading up to the national convention on November 15-16 in Ibadan. The focus will be on reviewing and adopting the zoning committee's resolutions, including conducting primaries at various levels.

Speculation is rife about former President Goodluck Jonathan and others potentially entering the race. PDP member Eddy Olufeso emphasized the party's efforts to reclaim a prominent position in the political landscape, regardless of the candidate's origin.
