Suleiman Warns Tinubu on APC Ticket Zoning for 2027

In a statement shared on social media, Prof. Abubakar Suleiman, a chieftain of the APC and Director at the National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies, warned President Bola Tinubu to exercise caution when considering the zoning of the APC governorship ticket for Kwara State ahead of the 2027 elections. Suleiman highlighted the ongoing discussions within the party regarding the potential rotation of power to the northern zone of the state, stressing that this approach is vital for managing the state's diverse political landscape.

He noted that the evaluation of zoning must consider electoral implications and not merely be based on sentiment. Suleiman referred to the 2023 general elections, where the PDP made strategic errors that led to negative outcomes, urging the APC to learn from these mistakes.
