Kwara PDP Names Kawu as Consensus Gubernatorial Candidate

The People's Democratic Party (PDP) in Kwara State has officially announced Engr. Sulaiman Bolakale Kawu as its consensus gubernatorial candidate for the 2027 elections.

This decision was reached during a successful primary election held on a Sunday, where the party's candidates emerged without any rancor. The announcement was made in Ilorin on Saturday, signed by the party's leader, former Senate President Dr.

Abubakar Bukola Saraki. Engr.

Kawu expressed gratitude to the stakeholders for their support and emphasized the importance of unity within the party. He stated that he would carry the party's flag in the forthcoming gubernatorial elections.

Meanwhile, the PDP is preparing for a competitive primary against the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the lead-up to the general elections next year. The PDP's primary elections are set to take place in a peaceful and orderly manner, with Kawu previously serving as the Executive Director of the Rural Electrification Agency.
