Labour Party Affirms Philip Agbes for 2027 Elections

On Saturday, the Labour Party affirmed Philip Agbes as its consensus candidate for the Ado, Okpokwu, and Ogbadibo Federal Constituency in the upcoming 2027 House of Representatives elections. This decision was made during a stakeholders' gathering attended by thousands of party members from the three local government areas.

Agbes, who recently defected from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the Labour Party amid ongoing internal crises within the Benue State chapter, secured a total of 53,306 votes across the constituencies: 17,789 from Ogbadibo, 17,767 from Okpokwu, and 17,750 from Ado. Agbes expressed gratitude to the party members for their confidence in him and pledged to provide effective representation.

He emphasized the importance of unity and commitment to delivering democratic dividends and advancing the interests of the constituents. Additionally, Princ Onuh was named the Labour Party's consensus candidate for the Benue South Senatorial District for the 2027 general elections.
