Philip Agbes Wins LP Ticket for 2027 House Election

Philip Agbes, a member representing Ado Okpokwu Ogbadibo Federal Constituency, has secured the Labour Party (LP) ticket for the 2027 House of Representatives election. He emerged unopposed during the party's direct primary, which took place across 35 council wards in the Ado Okpokwu Ogbadibo local government area of Benue State, garnering 52,000 votes.

The primary was conducted under the supervision of Dr. Aminu Atonu, who described the election as peaceful, transparent, and credible.

Additionally, Dr. Samuel Onuh returned unopposed as the Labour Party's candidate for the Benue South senatorial district, while philanthropist Dr.

Mathia Byuan emerged as the party's governorship candidate for the 2027 general elections. Agbes expressed gratitude to his constituents, noting the overwhelming support he received despite rainfall, which he interpreted as a reaffirmation of the mandate given to him in 2023.
