Labour Party Denies Endorsing Tinubu for 2027 Elections

The Labour Party has officially denied claims that it endorsed President Bola Tinubu for a second term in the upcoming 2027 general elections. The statement was issued by Abubakar Yawal, the Sokoto State chairman and a member of the Northern Labour Party Chairmen Forum, who described the allegations as false and misleading.

Yawal specifically referred to comments made by Abayomi Arabambi, who was expelled from the party and lacks the authority to speak on its behalf. The Labour Party emphasized that it has not made any decisions regarding support for Tinubu's second term and that the claims are unfounded.

The party's leadership remains intact, and it recognizes the political ambitions of former presidential candidate Peter Obi, allowing members the freedom to pursue their political aspirations on the platform of their choice. The Labour Party urged the public to disregard the baseless claims, which come amid internal disagreements and rival factions within the party.
