Labour Party Denies Endorsement of Tinubu for 2027

The Labour Party has officially rejected claims that it endorsed President Bola Tinubu for a second term in the upcoming 2027 general elections. The statement was issued by Abubakar Yawal, the Sokoto State Chairman and Vice Chairman of the Labour Party in the South West, who described the endorsement claim as false and misleading.

Yawal emphasized that the party's leadership remains intact and does not recognize any unauthorized statements made on its behalf. The party also reaffirmed its commitment to allowing its former presidential candidate, Peter Obi, and other members the freedom to pursue their political ambitions on the platform of their choice.

Furthermore, the Labour Party urged the public to disregard the baseless claims, which come amid internal disagreements and rival factions within the party that have led to conflicts regarding its leadership position.
