Labour Party Exempts Governor Otti from Screening Process

The Labour Party has decided not to subject Abia State Governor Alex Otti to its screening process ahead of the 2027 governorship elections. This decision was communicated by Nenadi Usman, the national chairman and head of the screening committee, who stated that Otti was granted a waiver due to his significant contributions to the party's growth.

The Labour Party leadership had previously obtained a nomination form on behalf of Governor Otti, and Usman emphasized that the screening process was deemed unnecessary for him. The waiver was presented during a ceremony, which was described as a gesture of appreciation towards Otti, who is recognized as a strong representative of the party.

Usman commended Otti's administration in Abia State and noted that the waiver was free of charge, aimed at encouraging Otti to continue delivering good governance to the people of the state. Otti is seeking a second term on the Labour Party platform.
