APM Endorses Makinde as Opposition Candidate for 2027

The Allied People’s Movement (APM) in Lagos State has declared Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde as the best candidate for the opposition coalition in the upcoming 2027 presidential elections. Ayodele Kazeem, the APM State Publicity Secretary, stated that Makinde's leadership qualities, competence, and national acceptability make him the ideal choice to unite the opposition and offer a credible alternative to Nigerians.

Kazeem emphasized that this endorsement is based on Makinde's governance record, which includes significant investments in infrastructure, healthcare, education, agriculture, and security in Oyo State. He highlighted Makinde's reputation for fiscal management and economic growth, asserting that he has demonstrated responsible management of public resources.

Kazeem described Makinde as a bridge-builder with respect across party lines, possessing the temperament and credibility to attract support nationwide. He argued that electability is crucial for the coalition, which cannot afford to present a candidate with limited regional appeal.
