APM Endorses Seyi Makinde for 2027 Presidential Race

The Allied People’s Movement (APM) has positioned Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State as its presidential candidate for the 2027 general elections, emphasizing his increasing national acceptance as a reflection of the public's desire for credible leadership. APM National Publicity Secretary Abubakar Yusuf stated that ongoing cross-party talks are yielding positive results, aiming to create a strong opposition alliance to challenge President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Yusuf noted a significant show of support from members of the PDP in Ekiti State, who gathered in Ado-Ekiti to reaffirm their backing for Makinde while maintaining their PDP identity. He highlighted Makinde's performance in governance as a major factor attracting support, particularly among the youth, and asserted that the APM is committed to democratic values and accountable governance.

The party is actively mobilizing support and anticipates further solidarity from other political entities in the lead-up to the elections.
