Enugu Leaders Pledge Support for Tinubu Ahead of 2027

On Tuesday, Enugu State Governor Peter Mbah, alongside political leaders and stakeholders from the state, visited Aso Rock to express their support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the lead-up to the 2027 general elections. Mbah emphasized the importance of federal interventions in Enugu State, noting that these efforts have begun to yield visible developmental outcomes.

He specifically mentioned the impact of federal policies and projects, including the concession of the Akanu Ibiam International Airport, which he described as a significant step towards opening the Southeast region to global economic opportunities. Mbah praised the federal government's interventions in key infrastructure projects, such as the reconstruction of the Enugu-Port Harcourt Expressway and ongoing work on the Enugu-Onitsha road.

He also called for sustained funding for the Port Harcourt-Enugu rail line to unlock its full economic value. The delegation included notable figures such as Chief of Air Staff Kelvin Anek, former Senate President Ken Nnamani, and prominent cleric Revd Father Ejik Mbaka.
