Tinubu Promises Infrastructure Support for Enugu State

On Tuesday, President Bola Tinubu pledged federal government support for infrastructure development in Enugu, specifically addressing the long-standing request for a rail corridor linking Parako to Enugu. This commitment was made during a meeting with a delegation of Enugu state political leaders at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

Tinubu praised Governor Peter Mbah for his development record, highlighting Mbah's election on the People's Democratic Party platform in 2023 and his subsequent defection to the All Progressives Congress in October 2025. The President acknowledged Nigeria's historical infrastructure deficit and the need for serious long-term planning, contrasting his administration's approach with that of previous leaders.

The delegation, which included three former governors and two sitting senators, expressed solidarity with Tinubu's vision for Nigeria's economic foundation. Mbah outlined landmark projects and expressed gratitude for the President's support, emphasizing the importance of federal investment in Enugu's socio-economic development.
