APC Chieftain Advocates Muslim-Muslim Ticket for 2027 Elections

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has proposed a Muslim-Muslim ticket for the 2027 elections, highlighting the demographic reality in favor of retaining a Muslim-Muslim presidential ticket, especially in Northern Nigeria. Aliyu, the party member, stressed the significance of electoral strategies over sentiments in shaping the party's decisions.

He cautioned against premature discussions on the party's future leadership, urging members to avoid speculation. The APC leader also warned against undermining the party's internal cohesion.

The chieftain argued that the electoral strength, particularly in the northern region, plays a crucial role in determining the party's final candidate selection. The suggestion of a Muslim-Muslim or Muslim-Christian ticket is seen as a strategic political calculation to leverage the significant Muslim voter advantage in the North.
