Adelabu Prioritizes APC Unity Over Legal Challenge

Bayo Adelabu, a former Minister of Power and All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship aspirant in Oyo State, announced that his ambition to govern the state is not a do-or-die affair. In a statement issued in Ibadan on Thursday, he clarified that he would not challenge the party’s governorship primary results in court, emphasizing that his decision was made in the interest of peace, party stability, and the future of the APC in Oyo State.

This decision followed consultations with party leaders and supporters across the state’s 33 Local Government Areas and 351 wards. The APC has faced internal disagreements regarding the emergence of Senator Sharafadeen as its candidate for the 2027 governorship election, with some aspirants alleging that his nomination was imposed.

Adelabu stressed that his choice not to pursue legal action is not due to a lack of confidence or conviction but aims to prevent further divisions within the party. He also noted that many APC members are dissatisfied with the nomination process, citing concerns over transparency and the absence of publicly declared results.
