APC Adopts Direct Primary for 2027 Nasarawa Governorship

On Sunday, Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State announced that stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have adopted a direct primary system for the upcoming 2027 governorship election. This decision was made during a meeting with gubernatorial aspirants and members of the National Assembly, as well as chairmen of federal agencies and parastatals in the state.

Governor Sule emphasized that the direct primary process would be transparent and fully compliant with APC's constitution and the Electoral Act, leaving no room for grievances or appeals. He warned that any aspirant who chooses to leave the party would undermine the democratic process and could lead to conflicts within the party.

Sule also highlighted the importance of equity and fairness in the selection process, asserting that the Nasarawa West senatorial zone should produce the next governor, while expressing confidence that the APC in Nasarawa State would emerge stronger and united for the 2027 general elections.
