NDC Urges Kwankwaso to Leave ADC for 2027 Elections

The Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC) has made a significant appeal to Rabiu Kwankwaso, the former governor of Kano State, encouraging him to abandon the African Democratic Congress (ADC) amidst its leadership crisis. During a closed-door meeting, NDC's Deputy Chairman Muhammad Rabiu Sabo and National Public Secretary Ibrahim Ahmad Waya expressed their readiness to welcome Kwankwaso into their party, offering him a blank cheque for any position he desires.

This move is seen as part of the NDC's strategy to consolidate support ahead of the 2027 elections. The meeting followed widespread speculation regarding political realignments in Nigeria, particularly concerning the presidential ticket for the upcoming elections, with the NDC clarifying that any claims about their official social media channels regarding the 2027 presidential ticket involving Peter Obi and Kwankwaso were unauthorized.
