NDC Names Nasiru Garo as Candidate for Kano North 2027

The NDC has officially selected Honourable Nasiru Sule Garo as its senatorial candidate for the Kano North Senatorial District, where he will contest against the current Deputy Senate President, Senator Barau Jibrin, in the 2027 general elections. This decision follows the party's choice to replace Engineer Sunusi Danbatta with Garo as its main candidate.

The affirmation took place at a ceremony in Bichi, led by NDC Kano State Chairman Honourable Usaini Isa Mai Riga, who noted that Garo's prior experience as a three-time member of the House of Representatives influenced the decision. Danbatta voluntarily withdrew from the race, expressing his full support for Garo.

Upon accepting the nomination, Garo committed to inclusive representation and urged voters to back his candidacy. The NDC plans to focus its campaign on critical issues such as economic empowerment, agricultural development, education, healthcare, and infrastructure.

Garo has begun engaging with stakeholders across the 13 local government areas of Kano North to garner support ahead of the elections.
