Aisha Yesufu Vows to Track Votes in 2027 Election

Human rights activist Aisha Yesufu announced her intention to track every vote in the upcoming 2027 presidential election, stating that there will be no more rigging. Yesufu made this declaration during an interview on Channels Television on Thursday.

She emphasized the lessons learned from the 2023 elections and outlined a comprehensive plan to follow votes from polling units to the national level in Abuja. Yesufu stated, “We are going to follow the votes from polling units, to the ward collation centre, to LG, to the state, and all the way to Abuja,” and assured that no ballot paper, ballot box, result sheet, or individual would be out of their sight.

She expressed readiness to use various means of transportation, including bikes, boats, or private jets, to ensure transparency. Additionally, when asked about the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential candidate Peter Obi's competitiveness against President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, she criticized Tinubu, suggesting he is not as formidable as he perceives himself.
