No Contest Expected for Nwifuru in 2027 APC Primaries

Stanlei Okoro Emegha, the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ebonyi State, announced that no politician in the state has shown interest in contesting against the current governor, Francis Nwifuru, for the 2027 governorship ticket. This declaration was made during a meeting with Nwifuru's support group, the Fon Youth Movement, at the party's secretariat in Abakaliki.

The group contributed 40 million naira towards the governor's re-election bid. Emegha highlighted that the party leadership is in agreement to support Nwifuru in completing his second term due to his commendable work for the state.

He noted that even members of opposing parties have agreed to adopt Nwifuru as their candidate, advising that they wait for the appropriate time to follow the constitutional guidelines of the party. Chinedu Emenik, a representative of the Fon Youth Movement, praised the governor for prioritizing youth involvement in governance since 1999 and urged the youth to mobilize support for Nwifuru's candidacy in 2027.
