Yari Urges Northern Support for Tinubu in 2027 Elections

Abdulaziz Yari, the former governor of Zamfara and current senator representing Zamfara West, stated that the northern region has no reason not to support Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 elections. Speaking in Lagos during a visit to Rilwan Akiolu, the Oba of Lagos, Yari emphasized that Tinubu had previously supported former President Muhammadu Buhari during his presidential campaigns and resisted pressure to run against him in 2019, asserting it was the north's turn to lead.

Yari argued that Tinubu's support for Buhari should be reciprocated by the north in the upcoming elections. He praised Tinubu's performance and the administration's efforts to address challenges inherited from previous governments, asserting that there are no excuses for northern support for Tinubu's re-election.

Yari, who is also the director-general of the APC campaign council, stated that their backing is based on the belief that Nigerians want Tinubu to continue his policies and complete his tenure.
