Buni Advocates for Tinubu's Second Term in 2027

Yobe Governor Mai Mala Buni called for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027, stating that allowing him to serve a second term would uphold justice and fairness in Nigeria's rotational presidency. Buni made this statement on Sunday in Kaduna during the Muslim Intellectual Stakeholders Forum, organized by Islamic Women Intellectuals in collaboration with the Office of the Special Adviser to the President on Political Affairs, Kabiru Masari.

He argued that since the North had enjoyed eight years under a two-term presidency, it was only fair to allow Tinubu, from the South, to complete two terms. Buni urged stakeholders to support Tinubu to consolidate his administration's policies and programs.

He emphasized the role of Islamic scholars in promoting fairness and peaceful coexistence at various societal levels. Kabiru Masari commended the involvement of Islamic intellectuals in political development and encouraged them to support Tinubu for a second term.

Gombe State Governor Inuwa Yahaya welcomed the participation of Islamic women scholars in politics.
