Northern Leaders Must Back Tinubu for 2027 Election

Magaji Da’u Aliyu, a former member of the House of Representatives and Deputy Campaign Director of the North for the Tinubu Support Group, stated that Northern political leaders must support President Bola Tinubu's re-election in 2027. He claimed that this support is a fulfillment of an agreement made when Northern leaders sought Tinubu's backing for Muhammadu Buhari's presidential ambition in 2015.

Aliyu explained that after Buhari's unsuccessful attempts at the presidency, Northern leaders approached Tinubu in Lagos, where they promised that power would return to his camp after Buhari's eight-year tenure. He emphasized that honoring this agreement is essential for every Northerner and pledged that members of the Northern Tinubu Support Group would dedicate their resources to ensure Tinubu's re-election.

Aliyu stated, "On our part, we will support Tinubu’s re-election bid with our lives and wealth to ensure that we fulfil the promise we made.".
