Northern Leaders Launch Campaign for Tinubu's Re-election

A coalition of northern political heavyweights has established a structured political mobilization platform named Arewa for Asiwaju (A4A) to campaign for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election. The announcement was made by Edwin Olofu, Head of Media Relations for A4A, in a statement dated September 15, 2026.

A formal unveiling of the platform is expected in Abuja shortly, followed by zonal and state inaugurations. The movement is led by a 14-member Board of Trustees (BOT), chaired by former governor and senator Ibrahim Shekarau, with Senator Ibrahim Geidam and Barr.

Ibrahim Kabir Masari, Senator Joshua Dariye, and Brig. Gen. Buba Marwa (rtd). Mohammed Badaru Abubakar will serve as both BOT Secretary and Director General of the National Directorate, overseeing campaign strategies.

A4A has appointed state coordinators across all 19 northern states and aims to establish a grassroots campaign structure.
