Opposition Divided, Cannot Defeat Tinubu in 2027 - Analyst

In an interview on Arise Television, legal practitioner and public policy analyst Prof. Chris Nwakobia asserted that the divided state of opposition political parties in Nigeria will hinder their ability to defeat President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 general elections.

Nwakobia specifically referenced the defections of former presidential candidates Peter Obi and Rabiu Kwankwaso from their respective parties, the African Democratic Congress and the Nigeria Democratic Congress. He emphasized that the political landscape has historically not favored the opposition, which is currently embroiled in internal conflicts.

Nwakobia expressed that the opposition must unite and prioritize the nation's interests over individual egos to have any chance against Tinubu, who he believes has not adequately addressed organizational issues within the All Progressives Congress (APC).
