Farotimi Accuses Tinubu, INEC of Undermining 2027 Elections

Dele Farotimi, a Nigerian lawyer and activist, has made allegations regarding President Bola Tinubu and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), claiming they are plotting to undermine the 2027 general elections. Farotimi expressed these concerns in a post shared on X (formerly Twitter) on Wednesday night.

He stated that while opposition parties are gearing up for the elections, there are indications that Tinubu and INEC are preparing for a "coronation" rather than a fair electoral process. This statement follows INEC's recent removal of names, including David Mark and Rauf Aregbesola, from its official portal.

Farotimi emphasized that the leadership of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) will not recognize any factions within the party that could affect the upcoming elections, highlighting the ongoing tensions and preparations among political actors in Nigeria.
