Osun APC Endorses Tinubu, Welcomes Defectors Ahead of Elections

On a Saturday in Osogbo, the Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) formally endorsed President Bola Tinubu for a second term in office and welcomed several defecting members of the National Assembly. The event, attended by party leaders and stakeholders, featured renewed calls for unity within the party as they prepare for the 2026 governorship elections and the 2027 general elections.

Former Governor Adegboyega Oyetola highlighted the achievements of President Tinubu and urged party members to strengthen grassroots mobilization. Bola Oyebamiji, the party's gubernatorial candidate, noted that the defection of lawmakers demonstrates their commitment to the people of Osun State.

Osun APC Chairman Tajudeen Lawal described the defections as unprecedented in Nigeria's political history and emphasized the importance of unity within the party. The event concluded with a unanimous vote to endorse Tinubu's second term, with various party members, including Senators and House Representatives, present.
