APC Governors Support Tinubu's 2027 Re-election Bid

During the All Progressives Congress (APC) zonal congresses held in Enugu, governors reaffirmed their commitment to Bola Ahmed Tinubu's re-election in 2027. The congresses adopted a consensus option for candidate selection, as mandated by the amended Electoral Act 2022, which allows for either direct primaries or consensus choices.

The congresses produced new zonal executives, with Dr. Ijeoma Arodiogbu leading the South East zone and Muhammad Datti Garba representing the North West.

The North Central zone, led by Governor Abdullahi Sule, unanimously adopted Tinubu as their sole candidate for the presidential election. The congresses aimed to reinforce party unity and strategic alignment, with significant attendance from top party officials and governors from various states.

The national convention is scheduled for March 26-27, 2026, where further decisions will be made regarding the party's direction and leadership.
