Aliyu Abbati Abdulhame Announces Senate Bid for 2027

Alhaji Aliyu Abbati Abdulhame, the former Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of NIRSAL, has declared his intention to contest for the Adamawa Central senatorial seat in the 2027 elections, representing the All Progressives Congress (APC). During a press conference in Yola, he responded to a clarion call from the constituents of Adamawa Central, which comprises six local government areas: Yola North, Yola South, Gerei, Fufore, Song, Gombi, and Hong.

Abbati highlighted the diminishing quality of representation in the district and the need for a paradigm shift towards experienced leadership, particularly from technocrats rather than career politicians. He emphasized his commitment to legislative advocacy and attracting federal projects to improve the living conditions of the people in Adamawa Central, addressing issues such as unemployment, infrastructure, and health systems.

Abbati expressed loyalty to the APC and readiness to accept the party's decision regarding candidacy, whether through direct primaries or consensus.
