Former NIRSAL Boss Aliyu Abbati Eyes Adamawa Senate Seat

Aliyu Abbati Abdulhame, the former Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigeria Incentive-Based Risk Sharing System for Agricultural Lending (NIRSAL), has announced his intention to contest for the Senate seat of Adamawa Central under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC). During a press conference in Yola, he expressed his desire to provide effective, result-oriented representation for the people of his district, stating that Adamawa Central deserves active representation in the National Assembly.

He emphasized that he would not be a "bench-warmer" if elected, but rather an advocate for legislative initiatives that would attract federal presence and projects to the area. Abbati highlighted the importance of Adamawa Central's historical significance and its potential for development, particularly in areas such as infrastructure, agriculture, health, and education.

He asserted that the Senate requires experienced leadership to effectively engage with both public and private sectors to support the community's needs.
