Wike Denies PDP-APM Alliance Claims Ahead of 2027 Elections

On Thursday, Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, rejected reports of an alliance between the People's Democratic Party (PDP) and the People's Movement (APM), labeling the claims as "419" or fraudulent. Speaking to journalists during an inspection of ongoing road projects in the Gomani Yangoji area of Abuja, Wike accused Seyi Makinde, the Governor of Oyo State, of misleading Nigerians with assertions about a PDP-APM alliance in anticipation of the 2027 elections.

Wike emphasized that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is not aware of any such alliance, stating that the PDP remains independent and has not entered into any coalition arrangements. He further alleged that Makinde is pursuing a presidential ambition on the APM platform, which he claimed is already "dead." Wike's comments reflect ongoing political dynamics within the PDP and the broader electoral landscape in Nigeria.
