PDP's Gambari Asserts Party Strength Ahead of 2027 Elections

Omar Gambari, a governorship aspirant for the People's Democratic Party (PDP) in Kwara State, expressed confidence in the party's strength and unity as it prepares for the 2027 elections. In an exclusive interview with Punch in Ilorin on Tuesday, Gambari dismissed claims of internal divisions within the PDP, asserting that the party remains cohesive and vibrant.

He highlighted the grassroots support for the PDP across the state, particularly in Ilorin and Kwara South, and noted the party's credibility as a viable alternative to the current governance structure. Gambari acknowledged existing disagreements within the party but expressed optimism about ongoing reconciliation efforts.

He emphasized the importance of inclusivity in the political process, advocating for merit-based participation and the need for collaboration among states to address security challenges. Additionally, he proposed the establishment of a development commission to enhance targeted development in underserved regions of Kwara State, ensuring transparency and public trust through regular audits and town hall meetings.
