PDP Loses Appeal in Ogun Ahead of 2027 Elections

Kayode Oladele, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), declared on Thursday that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is no longer the party of choice for the people of Ogun State as the 2027 governorship elections approach. He attributed this decline to internal divisions and leadership crises within the PDP, which he believes have diminished its credibility among voters.

Oladele contrasted the PDP's situation with the APC's focus on governance and delivering tangible benefits to Nigerians under President Bola Tinubu's administration. He expressed confidence that Tinubu would secure a second term in office, emphasizing the administration's commitment to long-term stability despite facing significant economic challenges.

Additionally, Oladele highlighted the support for Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, who is aspiring for the governorship, noting his experience and acceptance across Ogun State. Former Governor Otunba Gbenga Daniel publicly endorsed Adeola, which Oladele believes will further consolidate support for the APC in the upcoming elections.
