Bayo Onanuga Critiques Peter Obi's Leadership Record

On Saturday, Bayo Onanuga, who serves as the Special Adviser on Information and Strategy to President Bola Tinubu, publicly criticized Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC). Onanuga described Obi as overhyped and overrated, labeling him as "clueless" and recalling his time as governor of Anambra State, which he characterized as a "spectacular failure." In a post on X, Onanuga dismissed the notion that Obi could effectively govern Nigeria, suggesting that his supporters mistakenly believe he can perform miracles in leadership.

He stated, “Governance is not by magic,” emphasizing that a credible national leader must possess a governance pedigree, which he claims Obi lacks. Onanuga further accused Obi of frequently changing his positions and allowing his worldview to be influenced by social media mobs.
