Peter Obi Critiques Tinubu's Administration Ahead of 2027

The media office of Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), issued a statement on Sunday criticizing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's administration. Spokesman Idris Zekeri Jnr outlined ten major failures, focusing on the rising cost of living attributed to the removal of the petrol subsidy and economic reforms that have increased financial pressure on households.

The statement highlighted the depreciation of the naira, which has raised the cost of imported goods and affected businesses reliant on imports. Additionally, it pointed to persistent insecurity, including kidnapping and banditry, impacting citizens' lives.

The media office called for greater accountability in government resource management and questioned public trust in the administration. This criticism is part of the growing political discourse as parties prepare for the 2027 general elections, with Obi previously contesting the 2023 presidential election under the Labour Party.
