Presidency Critiques Peter Obi's Presidential Aspirations

The Presidency has dismissed the expectations surrounding Peter Obi's presidential candidacy, asserting that governance is not achieved through magic. This statement was made by Bayo Onanuga, the Special Adviser to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Information and Strategy, who criticized Obi's leadership record and suitability for national office.

Onanuga argued that anyone aspiring to be a national leader must demonstrate a solid record of governance. He described Obi as "simply overhyped and overrated," alleging that he was "clueless" and a "spectacular failure" during his time as governor of Anambra State.

Onanuga also pointed out inconsistencies in Obi's political positions, likening his changes in stance to that of a chameleon. Furthermore, he claimed that Obi's worldview is shaped by his supporters on social media, suggesting that his public perception is influenced by a "mob" mentality.
