Peter Obi Calls for Unity in NDC After Primaries

On Wednesday, Peter Obi, a prominent figure in the National Democratic Congress (NDC), called on party aspirants to accept the outcomes of the recently concluded primaries in good faith. During the party's second National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting held in Abuja, Obi stressed the need for unity and reconciliation within the party as it prepares for future elections.

He noted that internal competition is a normal feature of democracy but warned that unresolved grievances could weaken the party's broader objectives. Obi highlighted the unprecedented speed of the party's internal processes and apologized for the late start of the NEC meeting.

He urged members to focus on building a credible political platform capable of addressing Nigeria's key challenges, including insecurity and infrastructure deficits. The NEC meeting also adopted resolutions for internal reforms, including plans for electronic voting in future congresses to enhance transparency and reduce disputes.
