Peter Obi Named NDC Presidential Candidate for 2027

Peter Obi has emerged as the presidential candidate for the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) for the 2027 general elections. His candidacy was ratified following a nationwide primary election held on Saturday, where he was the sole aspirant for the presidential ticket.

The event attracted key party figures, including former Kano State Governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, NDC National Leader Seriake Dickson, and National Chairman Cleopas Zuwogh. Support for Obi's candidacy was evident across the country, with party members gathering to endorse him.

The NDC's presidential flag was officially handed to Obi, who is expected to lead the party's campaign in the upcoming elections. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) was present to observe the process in line with the provisions of the Electoral Act.
